Christine Milnes Holt

Born in 1962 and raised in Oldham, Lancashire, Christine was reading and writing stories before she started school. She filled notebooks full of her writings and was heavily influenced in childhood by Enid Blyton and C S Lewis. Passing the entrance exam for Hulme Grammar School she continued her passion for reading and writing. In 1998 she obtained her degree in Literature and Creative Writing whilst working full time and bringing up two children under five as a single parent. For the next thirty years she concentrated on working and bringing up her family which left less time for her to pursue her dream of becoming a published author. During lockdown in 2020 with time on her hands she started collecting stories from her father of his life in India at the time of Partition, and decided to write a semi fictional novel. She now lives in Northwich, Cheshire with her husband Graham and two younger daughters, Lauren and Charlotte. Her elder children and grandchildren live close by. She also has a house in France where she hopes to spend more time writing when she retires from her job in the NHS.
